A Timely Visit

Indeed. Today was a timely visit to the church I’m always hearing about when I come back home to this part of the region (Sorsogon Province), also since¬†Black Saturday is still part of the Holy Week.

The Bicol region of the Philippines is home to a lot of old Spanish-era churches and cathedrals. One of the oldest churches I know of is the one in the photos below. Apparently, the Barcelona Church¬†was built during the Spanish colonial period–but what amazes me are the materials used to make the church: beaten egg whites, coral stones and wine called “tuba” if you can believe it!

I played with the camera, making the church a good subject for a photo today.
